Madison, WI (November 11, 2005) – Linda H. Bochert of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, was recently appointed to the Green Tier Advisors Committee of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The Committee comprises sixteen advisors representing varied interests and perspectives and will advise the Department on implementation of the Green Tier program. Ms. Bochert, a resident of Madison, Wisconsin, has been practicing environmental law for over 30 years and will serve as a “Legal Perspectives” Advisor for a three-year term.
Green Tier is a new, voluntary approach to environmental regulation that seeks to promote and reward “superior environmental performance” by businesses, industries, and municipalities. The program uses contracts, charters and environmental management systems to define and track environmental performance in ways that provide flexibility and deliver business value. Ms. Bochert participated in the development of the Green Tier legislation which went into effect in April 2004.
