MADISON, Wis.—Inside Wisconsin Sports has geared up to make the holidays a little brighter for some Wisconsin troops serving in Iraq. Thousands of copies of the monthly statewide magazine are on their way to the Onalaska-based, 458th Transportation Division serving in Iraq, or the “sand box,” as the troops call it.
It’s tradition for families in Wisconsin and all across our nation to gather together each year on the third Thursday in November to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, enjoy a festive turkey dinner and watch football. This Thanksgiving, while the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions take on their opponents, Inside Wisconsin Sports hopes our troops will feel a little closer to home when they read and catch up on the sports their State has to offer.
“We are thrilled to give something back to our troops, especially at this time of year when being home with family means the most,” states Chad Griepentrog, publisher of Inside Wisconsin Sports. “I don’t think there is a way to properly say thank you to the men and women working hard every day to protect us, but this is our way of letting them know we care and appreciate their courageous efforts.”
