– Conference demonstrates the practicality of solar electric systems for Wisconsin businesses –
MADISON, Wis. (October 17, 2005) – On November 3, Focus on Energy, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy initiative, along with We Energies is offering Wisconsin businesses an opportunity to learn about the benefits of solar electric systems. The one-day conference in Milwaukee, entitled “Wisconsin’s Solar Decade: 2005 to 2015,” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the We Energies Public Services Building Auditorium in Milwaukee, 231 West Michigan Street.
“The next decade may well be viewed as the decade when solar energy reached the tipping point,” said Don Wichert, program director for Focus on Energy’s Renewable Energy Program. “There is a tremendous opportunity for customers and businesses to take advantage of the new federal tax laws and We Energies’ increased buyback rate for solar electricity, which was recently approved. This conference will help business owners see that solar electric systems not only offer a way to generate power onsite at a predictable price, they in turn reduce utility bills helping to keep our air and water clean for future generations.”
Who Should Attend
The conference is designed specifically for business owners interested in installing a solar electric system, for those interested in creating a business which will install these systems, or for those who are otherwise interested in supporting the solar market. Attendees will learn about the rapidly changing economics of solar power, evolving solar electric technologies, and the available state and new federal incentives for solar electric systems. In addition, they’ll learn how to acquire technical assistance while planning their solar electric project.
