MADISON – Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Mary P. Burke today announced that Greg Jones has been appointed Commerce Administrator of the Safety and Buildings Division.
“Greg Jones brings a wealth of state government experience at the senior management level,” Secretary Burke said. “He will be a tremendous asset to my management team as we work together to grow the Wisconsin economy.”
Jones was most recently employed by the Department of Workforce Development and he has also worked for the Departments of Employment Relations, Health and Family Services, Corrections and Public Instruction, and at University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Jones has a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UW-Eau Claire, where he served as president of the school’s Alumni Association. He is active with several community boards in the Madison area and has served on the Wisconsin Steering Committee for the Americans with Disabilities Act Partnership.
