MADISON – Wisconsin housing providers and advocates will want to attend the
Wisconsin Conference on Homelessness and the Home for Everyone Conference,
to be held July 19-21 in Stevens Point.

“These conferences focus on providing housing for all Wisconsin residents,”
said Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Mary P. Burke. “This is a
great opportunity for housing financiers, developers, real estate companies
and affordable housing advocates to further community economic development.”

The Wisconsin Conference on Homelessness will bring together private,
non-profit and public agencies to address the complex issues of
homelessness. Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton will close the conference
by addressing the Wisconsin Women Equals Prosperity Initiative.

The Ninth annual A Home for Everyone conference will focus on four specific
aspects of affordable housing: financial resources for housing development,
housing and advocacy, capacity building for non-profit organizations, and
emerging trends in affordable housing. Secretary Burke will be a keynote
speaker at the luncheon on July 20.

The conferences will be held July 19-21 at the Country Springs Hotel and
Convention Center, 1501 North Point Drive, Stevens Point. There is special
pricing for attending both conferences and scholarships are available for
low income individuals and small organizations.
