Dept. of Commerce: Governor Doyle Announces Minority Business Development Loans

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that two recipients will share
$80,000 in financial assistance from the Minority Business Development (MBD)
program. The awards were made at the MBD meeting held June 7, 2005 in
Madison.

“My Grow Wisconsin plan calls for promoting entrepreneurship and expanding
economic opportunities for minority-owned business,” Governor Doyle said.
“I am pleased that we can assist in the continued growth of InterFreight
Transport Systems and Asra’s Family Childcare Center”

The awards are as follows:

InterFreight Transport Systems, Inc., Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, $50,000
MBD
InterFreight Transport Systems, Inc. provides transportation, warehousing,
and logistics services. The company is investing $1.3 million for
purchasing a building, land, and small equipment. The project will create 16
jobs and retain two jobs.

Asra’s Family Childcare Center Inc., Madison, Dane County, $30,000 MBD
Asra’s Family Childcare Center, Inc. provides high-quality childcare service
in a safe, healthy environment. The company is investing $340,000 to expand
its operation into a larger group operation. The project will create two
jobs and retain five jobs.
