Dept. of Commerce: Governor Announces $40,000 to Jenkins Research and Manufacturing Corporation of Fitchburg

FITCHBURG – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Jenkins Research and Manufacturing Corporation of Fitchburg will receive $40,000 in Technology Zone tax credits to expand their business, creating two jobs and retaining 25 more.

“We are working hard to help companies expand through the use of new technologies,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased the state can help Jenkins Research and Manufacturing Corporation make this investment, and meet their increasing production demands.”

Jenkins Research and Manufacturing Corporation specializes in custom machining, welding, and fabrication of parts for the medical devices industry. The company is investing $378,000 to purchase new equipment to meet increased production demands.

Jenkins Research and Manufacturing Corporation is in the Capital Ideas Technology Zone, which provides incentives for high-tech growth in knowledge-based, manufacturing, biotechnology, and business services industry clusters. The Capital Ideas Technology Zone includes Dane, Jefferson, and Rock Counties.
