MADISON-Gov. Jim Doyle today congratulated Procter & Gamble (P&G) on its
decision to install a new paper machine and associated equipment at its
Green Bay mill.
“My Grow Wisconsin plan included significant investments to upgrade and
expand our traditional industries,” Governor Doyle said. “Wisconsin has
been the number-one paper producer in the country for 50 years. To maintain
that leadership, I am pleased that we could help Procter & Gamble install a
new paper machine in Wisconsin for the first time in 35 years.”
“We are pleased to make this investment in growing our Charmin and Bounty
capacity at our Green Bay site,” said David Taylor, President of P&G’s
Global Family Care business.
P&G is expected to have a record level of investment at the site over the
next two years. A state incentive package totaling $3.4 million will assist
with employee training, equipment acquisition, and infrastructure
improvements.
