Dept. of Commerce: Gov. Doyle Announces Funding for ABC Computers

MADISON-Gov. Jim Doyle today announced that ABC Computers, Waupaca, Waupaca County, in the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership (NEWREP) Technology Zone, will receive $250,000 in Technology Zone tax credits. Department of Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke made the announcement in Waupaca on behalf of the Governor.

“Through my Grow Wisconsin 2005 Agenda we are working hard to help companies remain competitive by upgrading their technologies,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that we can help ABC Computers on this project that will create jobs and investment in Waupaca.”

ABC Computers is Wisconsin’s largest provider of sourced-based accounting systems. It uses up-to-date technologies to improve business efficiencies of its customers. It is investing $1.8 million to construct and equip a new facility. The project will create up to 18 jobs and retain

19 jobs.

The NEWREP Technology Zone provides incentives for high-tech growth in Engineering/Design, Electronics, and Wood/Forestry related products, among others. The NEWREP Technology Zone includes the counties of Brown, Calumet, Door, Florence, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago.
