APPLETON, WI, — January 17, 2005 – It is with profound sorrow that Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation (AWAC) shares news of the loss of a key member of the airline’s leadership team. W. Doug Horn, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AWAC, passed away early Friday, January 14, 2005.

“My partners and I are deeply saddened,” stated Geoff Crowley, the Company’s President and CEO. “Doug was an inspiring leader who contributed in countless ways to the success of AWAC since he joined us six years ago. He will be deeply missed.”

As AWAC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Horn was responsible for Customer Service, Flight Operations, Maintenance, Inflight Service, System Operations Control, Safety and Corporate Communications. Mr. Horn joined the company in 1999 as the Senior Vice President of Customer Service. He quickly began taking on additional responsibilities and played a pivotal role in the airline’s success and growth from 2000 through 2004 when AWAC’s fleet grew from 24 to 87 aircraft. Mr. Horn’s exceptional people skills and well-rounded knowledge of the airline industry earned him his promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the airline.

Prior to joining AWAC, Mr. Horn had developed an in-depth knowledge of and appreciation for the airline industry. He was Vice President of Customer Service for Allegheny Airlines, one of USAir’s largest regional feed operations. During his tenure at Allegheny, Mr. Horn acted as interim President and CEO for a year and a half during a period when the CEO was on assignment at the parent company.

Prior to Allegheny, Mr. Horn was at Continental Airlines where he held a number of positions including City Vice President-Houston, Continental’s largest hub, Vice President of the Western Region, based in Denver, Vice President of the Central Region and was Vice President of Strategic Business Unit until his departure.
Mr. Horn began his career with Texas International Airlines in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1968.

Mr. Horn leaves behind a wife, three children and countless friends and family to cherish his memory.

A Memorial Service will be held in Denver on Wednesday, January 19, 2:00 P.M. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. On-line memorials at www.horanandmcconaty.com.
A Memorial Service will be held in Appleton on Friday, January 21, with visitation at 1:30 P.M. and a service to follow at Wichmann Funeral Home, 3212 S. Oneida St., Appleton.
