Suttle-Straus, Madison area commercial printer, won several honors for outstanding achievement in the fourth annual 2004 Graphics Excel-lence Awards, a statewide printing competition hosted by the Printing Industries of Wisconsin, the state’s trade association for printing and graphic arts.
Competing against over 670 entries from printing firms across the state, Suttle-Straus garnered multiple awards for pieces submitted for judging. The company received Best of Category for seven pieces and Best of Division for four others. Awards of excellence were given to Suttle-Straus for 13 additional entries, as well as 6 honorable mention awards.
“We are extremely proud of our winning team,” said John Berthelsen, President, “It is a real achievement to be recognized as a company that produces top quality, award winning materials.”
Entries were judged on technical printing excellence by a judging panel of printers, buyers, and ad agency executives. Niall Power, PIW’s president and CEO stated “I was really overwhelmed by the high standard of entries this year, it’s too bad we cannot have more than one top pick! The judges were very impressed with the quality of the pieces. Suttle-Straus should be very proud of their company’s achievement and the excellent work done by their employees.”
The Graphic Excellence Awards recognize those responsible for the creation and production of print communications in Wisconsin. The competition promotes excellence in print communications and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.
PIW is the state’s graphic arts trade association, representing an industry with more than 41,000 employees and $6 billion in annual sales.
