Scribante to Lead Orion’s U.S. Sales Efforts

(Plymouth, WI) Orion Energy Systems announced the promotion of John Scribante to Vice President of Sales. Mr. Scribante has 16 years of sales and sales management experience. Prior to working with Orion, Mr. Scribante managed a sales force representing $80 million in annual sales for an information systems firm.

Orion has leap-frogged over existing lighting technology with the development of the “Illuminator Series,” which competes directly with High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting products such as Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium. Starting in the summer of 2000, Orion began designing the lighting fixture that became the Illuminator. Going head to head with the likes of several Fortune 100 companies in the $50 to $100 billion market for industrial lighting, Orion has designed an energy efficient lighting solution that delivers 50% to 100% better light while using 50% of the electricity consumed by HID fixtures.

“I think that Orion is ready to go vertical, both in terms of rapid sales growth and the vertical integration of its manufacturing processes and new product development,” stated Mr. Scribante. “When I hear lighting industry pundits say that Orion cannot compete with the big boys in the energy efficient lighting business, it just makes me more motivated to help Neal Verfuerth and Orion Energy Systems prove them wrong once again.”

Orion’s innovative Illuminator, an energy efficient lighting platform for industrial applications, has been awarded a series of 12 patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. As a fast growing Wisconsin company, Orion Energy Systems has received several prestigious awards including the Spirit of Ecology Award, the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award winner for the Emerging Growth category and the Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award. In 2004, Orion’s Neal Verfuerth received the Ernst & Young Wisconsin Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air named Orion Energy Systems a winner of the 2004 Clean Air Award.

“Now that Orion Energy Systems has begun to develop a national footprint, I thought it was time to develop a first-rate national sales organization, and promoting John is an important step in the process,” said Neal Verfuerth, President of Orion Energy Systems. “Orion is now poised to open more regional sales offices throughout the U.S, which will foster a whole new stage of growth.”
