Governor’s ‘Blog’ Will Enable Students to Keep Track of the Governor’s
Stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hong Kong From March 19-31

MADISON and BEIJING – As Governor Jim Doyle departed today
for China with a delegation of Wisconsin business leaders – the largest
trade mission in Wisconsin history – he invited Wisconsin schoolchildren to
keep track of the mission on his online “blog.” The Governor’s blog will
allow students to view pictures, hear the Governor in his own words, and
read his account of his stops in four Chinese cities as he works to open new
markets for Wisconsin’s exports.

“The purpose of our trip is to create new opportunities for
Wisconsin businesses that may lead to new high-wage export jobs in our
state,” Governor Doyle said. “But this also gives us a chance for Wisconsin
to learn more about China. I invite Wisconsin’s schoolchildren and others
to follow along and learn about the world’s most populous country.”

The blog can be viewed by going to the Governor’s website at
www.wisgov.state.wi.us and clicking on China Trade Mission. The blog will
include pictures, sound clips, and other details of the trip.

The Trade Mission – March 19-31 – will be the largest in
Wisconsin history and the second largest state delegation ever to visit
China.

Governor Doyle will host conference calls with media
periodically throughout the trip. Details will be announced by the
Governor’s office at a later date.
