MADISON – Businesses interested in selling their products to Vietnam should attend an informational seminar, Spotlight Vietnam, at the Pyle Center on Thursday, July 22 from 9:00-11:30 a.m.

“Vietnam presents a variety of business opportunities and particularly for companies focusing on water treatment and pollution control processes and products,” said Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Cory L. Nettles. “Vietnam is flourishing economically. According to the United States Department of Commerce, it had a 7.2 percent increase in gross domestic product in 2003.”

Spotlight Vietnam will be a chance for interested businesses to learn more about conducting business in Vietnam through a series of panelists and a video conference with interested delegates from Minnesota. Robert Bannerman, Principal Commercial Officer from the United States Department of Commerce, will be speaking about business opportunities in Vietnam. There will also be commentary on culture and business etiquette in Vietnam, and information about a business delegation to Vietnam that Commerce will be leading Oct. 30 – Nov. 6, 2004.

Businesses interested in attending the seminar are strongly encouraged to pre-register by Monday, July 19. Attendance is limited to 30 participants.
