Project will create 14 jobs

MADISON–Gov. Jim Doyle announced today that Genesis Industries, Inc., Elmwood, Pierce County, in the I-94 Corridor Technology Zone will receive $100,000 in Technology Zone tax credits. The I-94 Corridor Technology Zone includes the counties of Chippewa, Dun, Eau Claire, Pierce, Polk and St. Croix.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative calls for promoting the growth of high-tech companies across Wisconsin because these companies create family-supporting jobs, “ said Gov. Doyle. “As it expands, Genesis Industries, Inc. will create 14 jobs at an average starting wage of $17.63/hr.”

“I want to congratulate Genesis Industries, Inc. on this award, and thank Gov. Doyle and the Department of Commerce for supporting the development of technology businesses in western Wisconsin,” said Jerry Chasteen, executive director of the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission and coordinator of the I-94 Technology Zone. “Through investments like this, the economy of the region will continue to move forward.”

Genesis Industries, Inc. produces containers and delivery devices for the animal pharmaceutical industry. The company is purchasing state-of-the-art equipment and adding 33,000-sq. ft. of warehouse and office space. The project represents $2.3 million in private investment.
