Health Care Heroes will be announced Thursday

MILWAUKEE – Small Business Times will present the 2006 Health Care Heroes Awards to people and organizations who are making a difference by delivering efficient, effective and compassionate health care in southeastern Wisconsin.

The awards will be presented at a breakfast on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Wyndham Milwaukee Center Hotel in downtown Milwaukee.

“Too many of these people and organizations never receive the recognition they deserve. The Health Care Heroes Awards honor people on the front line of health care. They’re ordinary people doing extraordinary things,” said Small Business Times publisher Dan Meyer.

The Health Care Heroes were selected by a prestigious panel of judges, including: Dr. Randall Lambrecht, dean of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Department of Health Sciences; Karen Ordinans, executive director of the Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin; Dr. Sarah Pratt, a pediatrician who is the past president of the Medical Society of Milwaukee County Board of Directors and a current member of the Wisconsin Medical Society Board of Directors; and Connie Roethel, R.N., wellness expert and president of Core Health Group in Mequon.

Thursday’s Health Care Heroes program will be emceed by WISN Channel 12 news anchor Caroline Lyders.
