Green Glory APA leads the way for CBD beers brewed in Wisconsin
MADISON — One of Wisconsin’s first brew pubs is again pushing the industry forward with its latest concoctions: CBD-infused beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company, in partnership with Madison-based GreenRX, will launch Green Glory CBD APA, along with multiple house-infused CBD cocktails, on Dec. 13 at all locations.
The Great Dane and GreenRX will host a launch party from 4:30-6:00 p.m., Dec. 13 at the Dane’s downtown location, 123 E. Doty St., Madison. The event will feature drink specials for Green Glory and several CBD-infused cocktails.
“I hadn’t seen any Wisconsin beers brewed with CBD, and knew we could combine the best of both worlds for our customers,” said Rob LoBreglio, the Dane’s master brewer and co-founder. “We’ve experimented with beer recipes for nearly 25 years, so it’s only natural for us to brew a CBD-infused beer such as Green Glory.”
Green Glory is a traditional American Pale Ale with 5.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). This new spin on the Dane’s perennial favorite – Old Glory APA – is brewed with mosaic and simcoe hops, differing from the original’s cascade hops. Each Imperial pint (20 ounces) contains 7 milligrams of CBD and will sell for $7.50 per pint.
Along with Green Glory, the Dane is offering its line-up of winter cocktails, in addition to Wisconsin’s favorite Old Fashioned, with naturally flavored CBD. Those drinks include:

Each CBD-infused cocktail is $2 more than the non-CBD version and contains 7 milligrams of CBD. Additionally, customers can add 7 milligrams of unflavored CBD to any cocktail, beer or soft drink for an additional $2.

GreenRX is a Madison-based health and wellness store that specializes in CBD products. All of its products are sourced from U.S.-based producers and purity and quality are a top priority. The CBD is derived from hemp plants and GreenRX guarantees no THC (0.0%) is present in its CBD for the Great Dane’s beverage program.
