GOOGLE TO GRANT 2,000 “SMALL THANKS” KITS TO SMALL BUSINESSES IN WISCONSIN
Grow with Google Initiative to Help Create Economic Opportunities for Small Businesses Through Customized Marketing Materials
February 21, 2018 -- Today, Google announced it will give free, customized marketing materials to the first 2,000 Wisconsin small businesses that request one via Google’s “Small Thanks” Hub. The Small Thanks program is designed to help small businesses turn their customers into their greatest advocates.
Each free Small Thanks kit includes a custom printed poster, sticker, window decal, and table sign, as well as social media assets featuring excerpts of real customer reviews. Small Thanks is part of Grow with Google – a new initiative to help create economic opportunities for Americans.
Reviews from customers are similar to digital thank you notes, and they are one of the first things people notice about a business in search results. A few positive Small Thanks can mean the difference between a potential customer choosing a business or going elsewhere.
Recent research shows that small businesses benefit from an expanded online presence:
Google’s Economic Impact Report shows how the power of the web is working for Wisconsin businesses every day:
Launched nationally in November of last year, over 60,000 American businesses have taken advantage of the Small Thanks campaign. Businesses can visit g.co/smallthanks and enter their business name to get started. From there, they can customize digital and print assets to promote their business on social media and in-store.
In addition to Small Thanks, Grow with Google offers a number of other tools for small businesses, including Google My Business, to help small business owners build a website in minutes and claim a free Google listing so customers can find them on Search and Maps; Primer, a mobile app with quick, interactive lessons on writing a business plan, making a great website, marketing a business online, and more; and Startup with Google, a collection of online tools and best practices for getting businesses up and running, from raising funds and hiring the right team to developing new products.
