(APPLETON, WIS) — Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction has been selected by U.S. Venture to oversee the design and manage construction of its new corporate headquarters in downtown Appleton. Estimated to cost at least $49.5 million, this will be the second time Hoffman has developed a new corporate headquarters for U.S. Venture.

Hoffman will also design and manage the construction of the City-owned parking structure located underneath the U.S. Venture headquarters on a portion of the Fox River bluff site which previously was home to Fox Banquets/Rivertyme Catering. Combining the cost of the two projects, this will be the largest one-time investment in downtown Appleton in the city’s history, and a future economic cornerstone of the area.

“U.S. Venture has been extremely successful the past few years, as evidenced by their significant employee growth and need for a larger facility,” said Sam Statz, Hoffman president. “We are honored that they have turned to us a second time to assist with their facility needs and bring their vision to life. Together we’ll develop a facility solution that will meet their evolving needs as they continue to prosper.”

Steve Wille, project principal for Hoffman, says the parking structure will include four levels with space for at least 625 vehicles. The office space will be designed and built to initially accommodate about 780 associates, with the potential for future growth and expansion. “Our goal is to create a ‘timeless’ design that not only integrates with the downtown, but incorporates design elements that borrow from the adjacent industrial surroundings,” Wille said. “We are excited to partner again with U.S. Venture to develop the first mixed-use building for downtown Appleton.”

The new U.S. Venture headquarters will replace the existing building in Kimberly that was designed and constructed by Hoffman in 2010. That building was designed to house 280 associates, and now has close to 350.
