MADISON – On October 19 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) along with  our Milwaukee area workforce partners will host an Advanced Manufacturing Recruitment Event at American Serb Hall, 5101 W. Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee.  Milwaukee area advanced manufacturers with immediate and future needs will be on-site to speak with job seekers to fill machinists, electricians, maintenance, accountants, IT, operations, logistics and clerical positions. Job seekers of all backgrounds and skill-sets are encouraged to attend and meet with hiring managers from companies like Foxconn, Briggs & Stratton, DRS Technologies, Krones USA and more.

“The Milwaukee region’s advanced manufacturing sector continues to grow, and with that growth comes the need for additional workers of all types,” DWD Secretary Ray Allen said.  “Opportunities in this sector are plentiful, and with wages averaging $55,000 per year, I encourage Milwaukee area residents who are looking for rewarding careers in manufacturing to dress for success and join dozens of hiring managers with positions to fill at Serb Hall on the 19th.”

Individuals planning on attending the event to find a new job or start a rewarding career in southeastern Wisconsin’s growing advanced manufacturing industry are encouraged to dress for success, bring multiple resume copies and be prepared to meet hiring managers in-person.

Job seekers are also encouraged to contact one of southeast Wisconsin’s Job Centers to meet with DWD and other workforce agency staff to refine resumes, discuss interview techniques and access other career and training resources prior to the event to better position themselves for success at the October 19 event.

The event is being organized by DWD, the Waukesha – Ozaukee – Washington Workforce Development Board, Employ Milwaukee, and the Workforce Development Board of Southeast Wisconsin.
