Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts (THELMA) has announced that the 2014 Summer Invitational 45 North, which received an honorable mention as Best Museum Show by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, will return this summer as 45 North.

Last year, 18 of Wisconsin’s top artists were featured in the exhibit at THELMA. The 45 works were a unique combination of different media and conceptual frameworks that gave audiences a taste of the noteworthy and diverse nature of local art.

In 45 North aims to go above and beyond the accomplishments of last year’s show with more artists and more work. The 18 original artists return, but this time they bring friends deemed worthy to be part of this prestigious exhibit.

The original artists include Fond du Lac native Tom Berenz, and Peter Barrickman, Kimberly Benson, Derrick Buisch, Willy Carpenter, Michael Davidson, Breehan James, Frank Juarez, Greg Klassen, Kay Knight, Keith Nelson, James Pederson, Andrew Redington, Rafael Francisco Salas, Lynn Tomaszewski, Scott Zieher, Shane Walsh and Jason Vaughn.

New artists include Kim Miller, Ben Grant, Carey Watters, Jordan Adams, Sean Weber, Lucas Ruminski, Emily Held, Tony Conrad, Chris Natrop, Richard Knight, Marla Sanvick, Miguel Ramirez, Joshua Albers, Mollie Oblinger, Kristina Rolander, Sam Adams, Shane McAdams, Mike Womack, Chris Regner and Sarah Stankey.

The show expands both levels in the Contemporary Wing, and promises to be as exciting, but more diverse than 2014.

A free reception is set for Thursday, June 25, 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit, which is always free to view will be open until September 5.

THELMA’s Contemporary Wing is free to the public, thanks to the generosity of Horicon Bank. Horicon Bank has a tradition steeped in art and shares the belief that art should be accessible to all.

The gallery is open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, until 8 pm Thursdays, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Check THELMA’s website for any changes in the hours due to private events.

THELMA is located at 51 Sheboygan St., in the heart of Downtown Fond du Lac’s Arts and Entertainment District. Learn more about THELMA at thelmaarts.org, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
