Eau Claire, WISCONSIN – Central Wisconsin based Sterling Water Culligan – Chain of Lakes, LLC, a subsidiary of Sterling Water, Inc. headquartered in Eau Claire, WI, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Culligan of Waupaca effective December 29, 2014. Sterling Water is a third generation business whose family values are reflected in their excellent service and personal attention to not only their customer’s, but their community’s needs.
Bret Tangley, President, said of the acquisition, “Our approach to business is to not only exceed our customer’s expectations in products and service, but to treat our customers as we would our own family — with kindness and respect.” Tangley said that Sterling Water will retain the friendly and knowledgeable staff in Waupaca and he foresees hiring additional staff in the near future.
The Culligan of Waupaca dealership will continue service in Waupaca, Waushara, Portage and the Western half of Outagamie County.

The original Sterling Water had humble beginnings when its doors opened in Ellsworth, Wisconsin in September of 1949. The franchise has since grown into a four-dealership organization across Wisconsin and into Central Minnesota, and has been passed down to generations of “Culligan Men”, all from within the original Sterling family.
Sterling Water has won multiple awards including “Excellence in Manufacturing” from the International Bottled Water Association in addition to “Top 25” and “Emmett J. Culligan” awards from Culligan International.
