Noted experts to address business and talent development in a diversified economy

NEW NORTH, October 30, 2014 – Noted business experts John Torinus and Karl Alleman will be the keynote speakers at the 11th annual New North Summit – a full-day event for business executives, education leaders, non-profit heads, manufacturers, elected officials, community members and other stakeholders – on Tuesday, December 2, at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan.

Following the 2014 theme of ‘Every Part Counts,’ Torinus and Alleman will focus on the New North’s distinctive strengths and challenges born of having a uniquely diverse regional economy, according to Jerry Murphy, executive director of New North, Inc. Strategic economic development for the region grows from the mix of manufacturing, insurance/finance, healthcare, etc. The keynoters will discuss strategies to sustain and grow the mix, while also feeding the talent needs that come with growth and even further diversification of the economy.

“We are pleased to welcome acknowledged leaders in the integral areas of business development and the attraction, development and retention of talent,” says Murphy. “With business in the New North ranging from food production, to insurance, to manufacturing, to paper, we believe the insights of John and Karl will speak to the diversity of our growing regional economy.”
