MADISON – The Wisconsin Business Council announced that Mike Jones, Vice President of Corporate Affairs for MillerCoors, will be Chairman of the Board for the organization, following its Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday.

“Mike has been a great supporter of WBC in the past, and has agreed to help lead our association in 2011,” said Phil Prange, President and CEO of WBC. “MillerCoors is one of the state’s most prominent and historic firms, and we are pleased and proud of its participation in our efforts.”

Jones will be replacing the outgoing Chairman, Scott VanderSanden, President of AT&T Wisconsin.

“Scott has done an unbelievable job as Chairman,” said Brian Taffora, Vice President of Government Relations and Operations for WBC. “He was one of our Founding Members and has played a truly significant role in the growth of WBC. We thank him for his tenure.”

WBC also welcomed Jim Klauser, Klauser Consulting to its Board of Directors and welcomed its newest members of 2011: Google Inc. and Madison Gas and Electric.

“WBC is Wisconsin’s premier non-partisan business advocacy group,” Jones said. “This is our core mission, and has been an unmistakable part of our success in becoming the fastest statewide business organization in the state. I promise that we will remain a member-driven organization as we continue to grow.

“We look forward to working with Governor Walker and the new majorities/minorities in the Legislature to continue to enhance the business climate in the state, and make Wisconsin a great place to live, work and run a business.”
