Morgan’s Shoes Inks 10-Year Renewal

Chicago, Illinois (Dec. 14, 2010) – Joseph Freed and Associates LLC, the developer of Madison’s Hilldale Shopping Center, today announced renewed lease agreements with four current tenants. Footwear retailers Morgan’s Shoes, New Balance and Stride Rite joined Rupert Cornelius, a women’s fashion apparel boutique, in renewing their leases at Hilldale.

“We were one of the original tenants of the then brand-new Hilldale and we are in the same location today,” said Jeff Langner, CEO of Morgan’s Shoes. “As a locally owned and operated business, we look forward to continuing our association with Hilldale to serve this community.”

“We are excited to renew our leases with these four local retailers,” said Larry Freed, president of Joseph Freed and Associates LLC (JFA). “We are committed to becoming home to more local businesses in the Madison area. As we look to expand the goods and services offered at Hilldale, we want to be the shopping destination which includes a local retail experience.”

JFA also announced a the signing of a new lease with Motherhood Maternity, a maternity apparel retailer, for 1,500 square feet of space scheduled to open this spring at Hilldale.

Motherhood Maternity offers a complete selection of the latest maternity fashions at low prices for the mom-to-be.

Target will also be joining the Hilldale collection of retailers, opening in spring 2011. Construction of the new 150,000-square-foot Target store continues at the northwest end of the shopping center and will provide an additional 460 parking spaces.

Holiday shoppers will be pleased that Hilldale’s quadrant of the University Avenue construction has been completed just in time for the busy holiday season, enhancing traffic flow into the mall, with a new left turn lane into Hilldale traveling west.

The popular Hilldale Shopping Center, recently redeveloped by JFA, counts among its tenants Macy’s, the nation’s first Sundance Cinema, Metcalfe’s Market, Anthropologie, L’Occitane, The North Face, Title Nine, Aveda, Fair Indigo, Hot Mama, Great Dane Brewery, Flat Top Grill, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Sushi Muramoto, Café Porta Alba, and Pasqual’s.
