MADISON—Governor Jim Doyle today announced that 10 Wisconsin businesses will share $50,000 in Wisconsin Trade Program (WTP) grants to market their products at international trade shows.

“The success of Wisconsin’s economy is directly tied to the success of Wisconsin firms in international markets,” Governor Doyle said. “These grants will help expand our markets, helping to create jobs in Wisconsin.”

The following companies have each earned WTP grants for $5,000:

* Applied Spectrometry Associates, Inc., Waukesha, Waukesha County

* Echometrix LLC, Madison, Dane County

* InvivoSciences LLC, McFarland, Dane County

* Kahlenberg Industries, Inc., Two Rivers, Manitowoc County

* LPI, Inc., Eau Claire, Eau Claire County

* Mixer Systems, Inc., Pewaukee, Waukesha County

* Primorigen Biosciences Inc., Madison, Dane County

* Quintessence Biosciences Inc., Madison, Dane County

* Titan Industries, Inc., New London, Outagamie County

* The Wagner Companies, Butler, Milwaukee County

Governor Doyle has led an aggressive strategy to increase exports through his Grow Wisconsin Plan, a strong commitment to manufacturing, and a series of trade missions focused on increasing Wisconsin exports and attracting investment and jobs to the state. Since 2003, Wisconsin exports have increased more than 60 percent under Governor Doyle’s leadership.

The Wisconsin Trade Project Program provides individual grants up to $5,000 to reimburse small-to-medium size Wisconsin companies for expenses incurred while attending an international trade show, such as booth rental, product literature translations, or displays. High-tech companies can also receive a grant to attend a trade show held in the U.S. that has international attendees. The program does not pay for travel, lodging, or related costs. Wisconsin companies with annual sales under $25 million are eligible for this program. For more information, contact Jennifer Winner, Department of Commerce, 608-266-0413.
