Green Bay, Wisconsin — The Dairy Business Association (DBA) has endorsed Sean Duffy to lead Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District in Washington, D.C. “Dairy farm families are some of the hardest working people in Wisconsin. The products they provide and the revenue they generate are essential to Wisconsin’s economy. Sean Duffy understands this and is willing to fight for our dairy industry in Washington,” said DBA Executive Director Laurie Fischer.

Agriculture employs one out of ten Wisconsin citizens and contributes over $59 billion in economic activity to Wisconsin. Of that total, dairy is responsible for almost half or $26.5 billion each year. Even though milk production continues to increase, our cheese makers still import about 13 percent of their milk from other states. The dairy industry has room to grow to create more jobs and economic activity. Unfortunately, increased regulation has deterred many dairy farmers from expanding their businesses to capitalize on this shortage.

“Sean Duffy will fight the needless and unscientific regulations that inhibit dairy farmers from doing what they do best: create jobs, generate economic activity, and provide a safe and nutritious food source to feed the world while protecting our precious environment,” commented Jerry Meissner, President of DBA. “He understands the concerns of rural citizens. His leadership is greatly needed in Washington, D.C.,” continued Meissner.
