In July 2010, this Continuing Care Retirement Community in Madison, Wisconsin, received a Five-Year Term of Accreditation
(Madison, Wisconsin) August 10, 2010 – Capitol Lakes®, downtown Madison’s only retirement community (http://www.retirement.org), announced today that it has been awarded a five-year term of accreditation from the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC) of CARF International. CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. Among its organizations are the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), CARF Canada, and the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC), the body that accredits Continuing Care Retirement Communities, including Capitol Lakes.
“This is actually re-accreditation for this retirement community, which has been accredited for 20 consecutive years,” says Bruce Beckman, Marketing Director of Capitol Lakes. “It was last awarded accreditation in 2005 under its previous name, Meriter Retirement Services, and now has earned accreditation under the new name, Capitol Lakes. We are very proud that we have maintained the high benchmarks set by this respected industry commission. With so many levels of care on one campus, this is quite an achievement. We thank all of the staff and residents who assisted us during the rigorous accreditation process.”
Capitol Lakes offers four levels of care on one campus so residents can age in the company of friends. These include Independent Living residences; Assisted Living residences providing daily services and care; Assisted Living residences offering Memory Care for Alzheimer’s and other memory-impairing conditions; and a Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for short- and long-term skilled nursing care.
