BROOKFIELD, WI — The Wisconsin Wireless Association (WiWA) will hold an educational business meeting on April 28, 2010, at the Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton Street in Madison, Wisconsin. The topic is, “The Wireless Evolution to 4G.” The meeting begins with registration and networking at 11:00 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., and the business meeting starting at 12:15 a.m.

The meeting will include a panel discussion of 4th Generation (4G) technologies such as WiMAX and LTE and the changes and challenges they will bring to the wireless industry. “4G will migrate wireless networks to Internet Protocol, or IP, platforms, eventually allowing data rates to approach 1 Gigabit per second,” commented WiWA Board member and event organizer Ken Baumgardt. “It will allow further development of wireless broadband applications such as multimedia messaging, video chats, mobile TV and HDTV.”

The panel will be moderated by Dan Danbeck, Director of Telecommunications Programming at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Panelists will include Robert Dawson, Senior Vice President at Tessco; Jayant Kulkarni, Vice President at Award Solutions; and Ahmed Bencheikh, Director of Wireless Engineering for Time Warner Cable
