Kalahari Resorts: Disney veteran joins Kalahari Waterpark Resorts as creative director of entertainment

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (Oct 13, 2009)- Kalahari Resorts, a leader in the indoor waterpark resort and conference industry in Wisconsin and Ohio, has hired Cary Brandt as the company’s new Creative Director of Entertainment. With over 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Brandt will use his expertise to continue to enhance Kalahari’s unique, under-one-roof vacation experience.

Brandt, a Wisconsin Dells native, began his career in production with the area’s famous Tommy Bartlett Show. He then spent 11 years at Sea World of Florida as a member of the Creative Entertainment Team, where he was responsible for the writing, producing, and execution of park events, followed by five years with ESPN’s Outdoor Products.

For the past 13 years, Brandt was a show director and writer at Walt Disney World Company where he was responsible for the concepting and execution of hundreds of events, including the largest property-wide event at Disney, The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

“Cary’s creative skills and storied entertainment background will help us continue to wow our guests by taking entertainment at Kalahari Resorts beyond their expectations,” says Todd Nelson, Kalahari Resorts president and owner. Brandt has worked with a wide variety of talent including Hillary Clinton, Roy Disney and Richard Branson and has produced shows featuring musical talent such as Beyonce, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, The Backstreet Boys and Peter Frampton. His work for the Stars of Florida Show Team has also taken him across the globe to produce shows in Turkey, Egypt, Malaysia, Jordan, Dubai, Turkmenistan, China, Barbados, and Columbia.

An avid skydiver, Brandt currently has 3,600 jumps to his credit. He is a certified SCUBA diver and enjoys music, reading and spending time with his wife Tori and his daughter Skyler.
