Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation: Awards 30 nursing scholarships

WAUKESHA, Wis. – On October 2, the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation awarded $29,000 in scholarships to 30 Wisconsin nursing students. The awards were presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield managing medical director, Dr. Michael Jaeger, at the Wisconsin League for Nursing’s Fall Conference at Waukesha County Technical College.

“Nurses play a critical role in our health care system, administering care and helping people live healthier lives,” said Jaeger. “At the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we are committed to improving the lives of the people we serve and the health of our communities. We are pleased the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation is providing 30 nursing students with scholarships to help them continue their studies so they may improve the health of individuals and families in their hometowns and throughout our state.”

Scholarships worth $1,000 each were provided to 28 students pursuing a bachelor of science, associate, or graduate degree in nursing, while two scholarships for $500 were presented to students pursuing licensed practical nursing accreditation.
