David J. Frank Landscape Contracting: Giving in the garden – Landscaper to celebrate 50th anniversary with community service party

Cause for celebration? In this economy? Yes, says Dave Frank, president and founder of David J. Frank Landscape Contracting. This year, his firm marks its 50th year in business but instead of simply touting its own accomplishments, the company has decided that the most appropriate way to celebrate its 50th anniversary is to continue its tradition of helping others. The “party” will actually be a community blood drive and collection day for the “Condella’s Coats for Kids” and “Full Shelf Food Pantry” programs. To be held in the gardens at the company’s corporate headquarters on Freistadt Road in Germantown, the three-fold service event and open house will take place on Friday, October 2nd, from noon to 6 pm.

The celebration is open to the public and will include live music, refreshments and a chance to speak with garden and landscape experts. There will also be tours of the nursery where all plants are 50% off for the remainder of the season in honor of the 50th anniversary. Blood, coat and food donors will receive a free flowering plant, and all guests will be eligible for prize drawings throughout the day. Everyone is invited to join Frank and his team in celebrating something bigger than just being the biggest landscaping firm in the state. “The people in this company have big hearts; they care about their work and about others,” says Frank. “That’s why we’re continuing to grow, in spite of the economy; we’ve always been about quality of work and character.”

Even in tough times, the company has maintained a strong client base but now more than ever, Frank is very aware of public attitudes toward spending, and how his company is positioning itself for what could be a slow economic recovery. “We had planned to go all out for our 50th anniversary, but what our customers and employees really want now is fiscal responsibility, not fanfare. So we took a closer look at what we really want to celebrate, and it comes down to service: 50 years of serving our customers, which has then allowed us to serve our communities – that’s what we’re really proud of.”

Dave Frank has been adamant about giving back and sharing the good fortune his company has enjoyed for half a century. Significant charitable contributions – in the form of time, materials and monetary donations – have been part of his operating budget since the beginning. “We want people to feel good about choosing us, so we strive to be not just a good company but also a good neighbor.”

David J. Frank is located at N120 W21350 Freistadt Road in Germantown. For more information on this celebration or the nursery sale, call 262.255.4888.
