MILWAUKEE, WI — (May 5, 2004) — Small business owners face many unique challenges including:

· Finding vendors and suppliers who will sell to a smaller company at an affordable price.

· Opportunities to showcase their products and services in an affordable setting.

· Networking efficiently to grow their business.

· Using the media to the best of their abilities and budget.

On Tuesday, June 15th, we’ll offer solutions to all of these problems… and all in one place! The National Association of Women Business Owners – Greater Milwaukee Chapter (NAWBO-GM) will host a Business Showcase from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Participating businesses and non-profit organizations will display, demonstrate and sell products and services. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, get free samples and, of course, with so many business owners in one place the networking will be fantastic.

An annual event, the Showcase welcomes a number of partner organizations this year. Our sponsors are: Azana Salon and Spa; The Business Journal and Clear Channel Outdoor. Our co-hosts are: Association for Women Lawyers (AWL); Executive Women’s Golf Association Milwaukee Chapter (EWGA); Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE); Small Business Administration (SBA); Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) and Women Business Owner’s Network (WBON).

Following the Showcase, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., will be our dinner meeting. The progressive dinner format will allow for increased networking. Participants will be served their salad course at one table, entrée with a second group of diners and dessert at a third placement. Instead of meeting seven other attendees, they will have the chance to talk with twenty-one entrepreneurs and professionals.

Both events will be held at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago Street. The Showcase and dinner meeting are open to the public, and non-members are welcome to attend either one or both. Reservations are required for dinner only. Tickets for the Showcase are $5 each and can be bought in advance or at the door. The dinner meeting is $33 for members and non-members are $43. Some space is still available for additional Showcase exhibitors. To register or for more information, call Karen Hendrickson at 414/358-9260 or visit www.nawbo-gm.org.
