MMAC: Attend the sick leave hearing on Monday, May 11

KEEPING
SCORE

On Monday, MMAC will take the next step forward in its lawsuit challenging the
Milwaukee Sick Leave Ordinance. As you recall, this mandate passed in last November’s
elections. MMAC has maintained the mandate is a violation of state statute and
the Wisconsin Constitution and would create an island of regulation in the City
of Milwaukee that would seriously harm our regional competitiveness. We have heard
from hundreds of members that this mandate would be a significant burden on their
business and MMAC was successful in getting an injunction temporarily blocking
implementation of the ordinance, which was slated to go into effect in February.

1:30 PM
County Courthouse – Room 413
Judge
Thomas Cooper will hear oral arguments in our lawsuit.
The judge will not
be rendering a final decision on Monday.

We welcome you to attend this
court hearing and show your support for our lawsuit. A good sized crowd is likely,
so you are encouraged to arrive early.

Thank you for your interest in this important issue.
