Start-Up Creates Unique Retail Model for Local Green Businesses

PosiPair, a local green business web start-up, announced today that the company’s entry in the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest has won elevation to Phase 2 of the competition.

“Our judges faced a number of tough choices,” said Thomas Still, President of the Wisconsin Technology Council, “and the contestants who advanced represent only 15 percent of the total entries.”

The Governor’s Business Plan Contest is now in its sixth year of encouraging entrepreneurs in the early-growth stages of high-tech businesses in Wisconsin. Participants have the chance to win a Grand Prize worth $50,000. There were a record 326 entries entries this year, representing a 33 percent increase over last year.

“We are thankful for this vote of support, and look forward to the next round of competitition,” said Sarah Manski, CEO and co-founder of PosiPair. “We’re really thrilled to be recognized for offering a compelling, innovative, and necessary product.”

As a Phase 1 winner, Sarah Manski will attend a business plan contest “boot camp” on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Milwaukee law offices of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren, S.C..

“This is an early sign that the company is heading in the right direction, and a testament to Sarah’s sense of opportunity and drive,” said Ben Manski, PosiPair’s CVO.

PosiPair received a letter of commendation from the chairman of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

The next step for the 51 Phase 2 contestants involves the submission of a 1,000 word Summary Business Plan that must be submitted by 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12, for judging, to be followed by possible advancement to Phase 3. Final winners will be announced at the 2009 Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference in Milwaukee on June 9-10.
