Wisconsin –(February 17, 2009)—Consumers now depend on grocers to provide more than just food products. They demand a wider variety of services from gift ideas to childcare to recipes and online tools. Now, Festival Foods has introduced an online tool ahead of its time: free online access to accredited nutritionists.

Festival Foods has teamed up with Registered Dietitians from across the state to provide clarity on the latest nutrition trends. Mary Berg, full-time Healthy Living Coordinator at Festival Foods, as well as Lisa Eierman and Jennifer Poots, independent Registered Dietitians, work with Festival guests looking for nutritional guidance. Customers simply visit http://www.festfoods.com to email their personal nutrition questions. Each question is personally answered specifically to the consumer’s needs.

Marlin Greenfield, Chief Operating Officer of Festival, said of the program, “Festival’s goal is to enhance a guests’ shopping experience by teaching them how to utilize the latest nutrition information, to achieve their personal wellness goals. As part of our Boomerang Theory, we’re always looking for new ways to keep our customers coming back.”

A wide variety of questions come in from individuals with Diabetes, high cholesterol, Celiac Disease, and other illnesses. Other frequent questions mention meal planning for vegetarians, weight loss, and allergies. Festival’s nutritionists respond directly to the consumer with advice on foods to eat and to avoid as well as information on a variety of books, cookbooks, and online resources customers can use to further their knowledge.
