Dept. of Commerce: Commerce International Division Offers Seminars For Exporters

MADISON- Businesses and individuals interested in international markets and
exporting issues should attend the international business seminars on April
6, April 13, and April 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in New Richmond, at
the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, Cashman Conference Center.

“These seminars will help new businesses enter export markets and assist
current exporting businesses in improving their operations, providing them
an opportunity to create important growth for their businesses,” Department
of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Cory L. Nettles said.

Commerce – International Division, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical
College, St. Croix Valley Employers Association, Inc., Northwest Wisconsin
Manufacturing Outreach Center, and the St. Croix Economic Development Corp.,
are sponsoring the seminars. Participants will learn about Wisconsin’s
export opportunities in China, export compliance, and financial assistance
for Wisconsin businesses.

On Tuesday, April 6, the seminar title is Export Compliance: What
you Need to Know to Comply With the Law, presented by Ann Thomas, President
of Circinus, Ltd. On Tuesday, April 13, the seminar title is Risks and
Opportunities in the Asia/Pacific Markets, presented by Chad Vogt, Vice
President of Global Trade Services, US Bank. On Tuesday, April 20, the
seminar title is Programs and Services Available to Help Expand Your
International Business, presented by John Konkel, International Consultant,
Wisconsin Department of Commerce – International Division. Also on Tuesday,
April 20, Pauline Klaffenboeck, Vice President of International Banking,
Marshall & Ilsley Bank, will present a seminar entitled Financial Aspects
and Challenges of Doing Business with China.

The cost of an individual session is $45/person. The cost to attend all
four seminars is $115/person. Checks are payable to “St. Croix Valley
