MILWAUKEE, (June 4, 2008) – The Association of Language Companies (ALC)
announced today the election of Steve Iverson, founder of Iverson Language
Associates, to its Board of Directors. The election took place at the association’s
recent annual conference in San Francisco. The event was the largest in the
organization’s six-year history.
Formed in 2002 by a group of entrepreneurs to raise awareness of the translation and
language services industry, ALC is the only national trade organization representing
businesses that provide translation, interpretation, localization and language training
services.
“As a founding member of the organization, I am excited to be elected to the Board
of Directors,” said Iverson. “I look forward to helping our members build their
companies, and to helping raise awareness of the value of our profession in our
increasingly global marketplace.”
During his first term as director, Iverson will oversee association activities as well as
serve as a board liaison to the Education Committee. The committee is charged with
developing an educational program to inform members of industry trends and new
tools, and provide information and techniques to help members and non-members
grow their businesses.
