MADISON-Women business owners, business professionals and entrepreneurs will want to attend the 2004 Business Women's Expo, Tuesday, February 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Madison.
"Both nationally and in Wisconsin, women-owned businesses are an increasingly vital component of the overall economy, and we are committed to supporting their growth," Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Cory L. Nettles said. "This expo offers a wealth of information from seminars, exhibits and featured speakers, as well as the opportunity for participants to make important sales and business contacts."
The expo features over 50 business and lifestyle exhibits and Lifestyle Room presentations that will be open to the general public from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a $5 fee. Natalie Knudson, owner of Modern Business Technology, will present the opening keynote address. Lisa Stone, the UW-Madison's women's basketball coach, will speak during lunch. The expo includes 12 professional development seminars, a networking lunch, and an interactive reception from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Commerce Bureau of Entrepreneurship will be exhibiting at the event, highlighting tools available to women-owned businesses, including a demonstration of the state's Business Wizard
