Henry Sanders to Join Hamilton Consulting Group 11/30/2006 The Hamilton Consulting Group today announced that Henry Sanders Jr. will join the firm to focus on its new bioscience and technology services partnership. The new venture, a partnership with nationally-recognized GSP Consulting called hamilton.gsp, provides a range of services that will maximize public-sector funding opportunities, craft and advocate for technology-related public policy and develop groundbreaking economic development efforts. Mr. Sanders also will provide legislative advocacy services to the firm’s existing clients. Mr. Sanders is a life-long resident of Madison’s north side who brings a strong record of professional and civic accomplishment to his new role at the Hamilton Consulting Group. After graduating from Madison East High School and the UW-Whitewater, he worked for the City of Madison and served as outreach coordinator on labor, education and environmental issues for U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin. He subsequently worked on strengthening economic development activities in Dane and Rock Counties for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). Mr. Sanders was the founder and president of the Madison Area Growth Network, or MAGNET, which works to attract and retain skilled young people in the Madison area. He served as vice president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, where he built that organization’s public policy department and started its Small Business Advisory Council. “Henry is a smart, talented professional who earned the respect of the business community during his time with the chamber,” said Jennifer Alexander, president of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. “Henry is an excellent addition to the Hamilton Consulting team. We expect that he will continue to make a significant contribution to the dialogue about economic development and other issues that will shape the growth of the bioscience industry in Madison and all of Wisconsin.” Mr. Sanders has served on the board of directors of the Urban League of Greater Madison. He received the Hometown Heroes Award for his service at the Vera Court Community Center. “Henry is passionate about entrepreneurship and has a wealth of personal and professional relationships to leverage in assisting start-up companies,” said Cory Nettles, a Milwaukee attorney and former state secretary of commerce. “Henry's broad range of experience uniquely qualifies him for this position. Hamilton Consulting and its new venture, hamilton.gsp, are very fortunate to have Henry on the team.” The Hamilton Consulting Group is one of Wisconsin’s largest and most experienced lobbying firms. It represents more than 30 organizations, many of which are in the technology, manufacturing and economic development sectors. “We are very pleased to welcome Henry to Hamilton Consulting,” said Jim Hough, senior partner of the Hamilton Consulting Group. “Henry’s experience gives him a unique understanding of precisely the kind of emerging businesses that we will assist through our new hamilton.gsp partnership. His combination of economic development and public policy know-how will enable us to serve both new and existing clients even better than before.” “I am delighted to be joining Hamilton Consulting at this exciting time in the firm’s development,” Mr. Sanders said. “There is an outstanding opportunity to drive the continued growth of the bioscience, technology and manufacturing sectors not only in Madison and Milwaukee, but across Wisconsin. I am looking forward to contributing significantly to hamilton.gsp’s efforts to support these important, emerging and valuable industries in Wisconsin.” |
