ACS Awarded Medical College of Wisconsin Renovation

MILWAUKEE, WI, June 6, 2018 – Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) announced that it has
selected ACS to manage the $15 million renovation of the second and fourth floors of its Basic
Science Building. MCW and ACS have more than ten years of history building together,
constructing superior facilities and laboratories ranging from research to teaching to training.
MCW relies on ACS to deliver high-quality building solutions.

MCW is in the process of modernizing its existing laboratories to provide flexibility for future
research. Over the years, MCW and ACS have partnered to modernize the building, including
renovations to the first and third floors as well as infrastructure supporting the building such as
an emergency generator, elevator enhancements, HVAC units, a new roof, and a multi-year
electrical power distribution upgrade. This project, to begin in the fall, will address two of the
remaining four floors and will integrate current practices and standards for a modern research
facility. The second and fourth floor renovation will be the first phase of a four-floor renovation
to the Basic Science Building, one of MCW’s original Milwaukee Campus buildings. A key
success factor for this project includes minimizing the disruption to adjacent working areas
while construction and MCW facility personnel continue to operate simultaneously.

“At ACS, we proudly align ourselves with MCW’s belief that to build a healthier world is to build
it together,” said Bob Roth, Director of Project Delivery and Principal at ACS. “Our project team
has experience with successfully managing complex renovations with minimal disruption to
ongoing operations. Our expertise in MEP systems and constructability provides an exceptional
set of skills that will ensure MCW’s goals are met and that their research functions can continue
during the project implementation.”

The long and successful relationship between ACS and MCW demonstrates ACS’s commitment
to the industry and is a testament to ACS’s mindset of collaboration and positive
communication.

Phase I of the renovation is set to begin this fall.
