Green Bay, Wis. – Shopko Foundation recently hosted the 38th annual Shopko Foundation Golf Classic presented by American Greetings, Kimberly-Clark, and Purina, raising $1,418,000 for charity.

More than 400 Shopko vendors and business partners from around the country, as well as current and retired Green Bay Packers, Jeff Janis, Jayrone Elliott and Leroy Butler, participated in the event, which took place in Green Bay at Thornberry Creek at Oneida Golf Course, Brown County Golf Course and Royal St. Patrick’s Golf Links. Jedd Bradley, Community Resource Officer with the De Pere Police Department, and Lia Haile, founder of Hopeful Hearts Club, were the featured speakers at a reception held in the Atrium at Lambeau Field.

“What counts is making a true difference and strengthening our communities,” said Michelle Hansen, manager of Shopko Foundation. “The funds raised at this year’s Golf Classic will support local charitable groups and programs that matter to the people who live and work in every community we serve.”

Through the generous support of its vendors and business partners, Shopko and the Shopko Foundation have raised nearly $34 million to support a vast number of worthy causes and organizations in Shopko communities through its Community Charitable Grant, Teammate Charitable Service Challenge, Green Bay Area Community Grant and Teammate and Family Scholarship programs.

“We are grateful to our sponsors for their support of the Golf Classic,” said Hansen.  “Their generosity and enthusiasm of our golf outing speak volumes of the high regard they have for the Shopko Foundation and the numerous organizations we support.”
