WEA Trust: Launches new health plan for WPE groups

Madison, Wisconsin – Public employers who have purchased their health benefits through the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) Wisconsin Public Employer (WPE) program have a new option for their health benefits.

WEA Trust, endorsed and recommended by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, now offers a jointly self-funded health plan specifically designed for WPE members. This plan has the same great benefits as the current WPE program at an affordable price. Members will be able to join a self-funded pool at a guaranteed rate for 2018 with high quality benefits. Once the plan is finalized, employers will have an opportunity to join an advisory board and offer input on future benefit design, plan features, and value added services.

“We’re excited to endorse the WPE Group Health Plan because the Trust knows the Wisconsin public sector,” said Jerry Deschane, Executive Director for the League of Wisconsin Municipalities. “In recent years, health plans have become more complex with additional regulations. This tailor-made plan makes us confident that when you join the Trust, you’ll be taken care of.”

Two plan options are available within the WPE Group Health Plan both offering additional value added services, high-touch customer service, and the choice of providers. Delta Dental is offering enhanced dental benefits to groups who also want a different dental option.

“This past year has been filled with uncertainty for Wisconsin public employees regarding their health care,” said Kyle Humphrey, Senior Director of Marketing and Product Development, WEA Trust. “Our new replacement plan will offer the stability and the sustainability that the public sector deserves.
