Alliant Energy Foundation: Area nonprofits receive more than $111,000 from Alliant Energy Foundation

MADISON, Wis. May 18,2017 – Thirty-two nonprofit organizations working in the Madison area are receiving community grants totaling $111,070 from the Alliant Energy Foundation in the first of its two 2017 giving cycles.

“These organizations do such valuable work that makes our communities stronger,” said Julie Bauer, executive director of the Alliant Energy Foundation. “Our investments support their crucial activities in the areas of Helping Families, Education and the Environment.”

Among those earning grants from the Alliant Energy Foundation are:

-Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, $20,500 for JA Pathway to Success

-Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Foundation, $10,000 for Business World

-Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland Council, $7,000 for GENERATION STEM

-YWCA Madison, $5,000 for YWeb Career Academy

-Aldo Leopold Nature Center, $5,000 for High-Touch Meets High-Tech Educational Initiative

-Wisconsin FFA Foundation, $5,000 for the Star Mission Partnership

-Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County, $4,000 for Youth Maker Camp

-East Madison Community Center Inc., $3,000 for Academic Improvement Through Minority Mentors Program

Also receiving grants are: Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, Madison Metropolitan School District, GiGi’s Playhouse Inc., Women in Focus Inc., Huegel Elementary PTO Inc., Urban Community Arts Network Ltd., Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership, Madison Audubon Society, Forward Learning Youth and Young Adults, Neighborhood House Community Center, UW Extension Dane County, National Heritage Land Trust Inc., The Wisconsin Society for Ornithology Inc., Wisconsin Literacy Inc., Vera Court Neighborhood Center Inc., Madison Children’s Museum Inc., Madison Northside Planning Council Inc., REAP Food Group, McFarland Youth Center Inc., Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, BadgerBOTS Robotics Corp., Badger Prairie Needs Network, Youth Frontiers Inc. and the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inc.
