(Appleton, WI) – Solar power, senior living design, and flexible learning spaces are among the topics that Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction professionals have been invited to discuss at upcoming conferences.
Randy Bremhorst, Hoffman’s vice president of design, will be part of a Senior Living Architects’ Panel at the LeadingAge Wisconsin Spring Conference on May 4 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. Bremhorst will share key elements that senior living providers should consider with future design efforts as senior care facilities continue to evolve.
Hoffman will also have two separate presentations at the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) Spring Conference in La Crosse on May 11-12.
Catherine Cruickshank, Hoffman senior project planner/designer, will be joined by Berlin Area School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Eidahl for the presentation: “The Educational Benefits of Flexible Learning Spaces.” Can a room’s design or furniture arrangement influence the learning done within the space? Cruickshank and Eidahl will examine the correlation between educational achievement and physical space and discuss the advantages that flexible spaces can provide to teachers and students.
Also at the WASBO Spring Conference, Mark Hanson, Hoffman’s director of sustainable services, and Denise Wellnitz, district administrator for the Darlington Community School District, will present “Here Comes the Sun! Using Solar to Your Advantage.”
With renewable energy rapidly increasing across the U.S. and a significant reduction in solar costs, more and more school districts are considering solar technology. Hanson and Wellnitz will discuss how solar energy is a viable option for schools to provide educational opportunities, reduce their carbon footprint, and lower energy costs.
