First Business Bank – Milwaukee, a member of the First Business family of companies (Nasdaq: FBIZ), is pleased to announce GPS Education Partners as the first place winner of the 2016 First Business Invitational for Charity. The nonprofit organization will receive a check for $10,000 thanks to local business leaders Corey Chambas, First Business CEO, and Dan Meyer of BizTimes who participated in the Greater Milwaukee Area First Business Invitational for Charity golf event at Westmoor Country Club.

The second place winning charities were Shalom Center and Kenosha Achievement Center, and will split the second place winnings of $2,500 thanks to Wes Ricchio of First Business and Jeff Valeri of Valeri Agency. The third place winning charity is Raymond School Foundation, and will receive a check for $1,500 thanks to Brad Weckwerth and Paul Rothering of Vrakas CPA’s.

The First Business Invitational is a forum where local business leaders compete for a local charity of their choice. The event was designed with two person teams competing in a best ball format. First Business covers 100 percent of the event costs. The event is a winner-take-all format in which the charity of the winning team receives all proceeds from the entry fees.

“We are thrilled to be giving the winnings to these great charities,” said Dave Vetta, President & CEO of First Business Bank – Milwaukee. “It is all about the charities here, so it’s wonderful to have the two teams wanting to share the winnings.”

CEO Corey Chambas said, “It’s always fun to win, but when winning supports deserving not-for-profit organizations like GPS Education Partners, it’s especially rewarding.”

Dan Meyer from BizTimes said “We for-profit companies have a big commitment towards supporting the not-for-profit community. We’re honored to be able to support and get the word out, because it’s a part of what we do at BizTimes on a regular basis.”

Dave Vetta said, “We’re so excited to gift GPS Education Partners with 10,000. They’re doing a great job at training the future workforce and working to close the skills gap in manufacturing industry.”

GPS is an educational product company and the only manufacturing-specific, statewide Department of Workforce Development Youth Apprenticeship Program in Wisconsin.
