Five Local Charities Win at 2016 First Business Invitational for Charity

MADISON, WI, September 22, 2016 – First Business Financial Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: FBIZ), is pleased to announce The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Wisconsin Chapter as the first place winner of the 2016 First Business Invitational for Charity. The nonprofit organization will receive a check for $25,000 thanks to local business leaders Ken Kurszewski of Hottmann Construction Company, Inc. and Greg Jones of Dave Jones, Inc. who participated in the First Business Invitational for Charity golf event at Hawks Landing on Wednesday, September 21.

The second place winning charity is Middleton Outreach Ministry, and will receive a check for $7,500 thanks to Todd Smith and Adam Greenberg of Godfrey and Kahn S.C. The third place winning charity is Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and will receive a check for $5,000 thanks to Tim Schleeper of Vierbicher Associates, Inc. and Chris Caulum of Oakbrook Corporation, sponsored by First American Title. The fourth place winning charity is REAP, and will receive a check for $3,000 thanks to Jeanne Whitish and Tom Stolper of Purple Cow Organics, LLC. The fifth place winning charity is Independent Living, Inc. and will receive a check for $1,500 thanks to Mike Scholz and Mike Hablewitz of Wegner CPAs.

The First Business Invitational is a forum where local business leaders compete for a local charity of their choice. The event was designed with two-person teams competing in a best ball format. First Business Bank covers 100 percent of the event costs. “This event combines two great qualities of business leaders: the competitive spirit and the desire to make a difference,” says Mark Meloy, CEO of First Business Bank.

Greg Jones of Dave Jones, Inc. said, “It was a great event, with so many deserving charities. Words can’t describe how happy I am to have won for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Wisconsin Chapter.”

He continued, “My son is the reason we played for this charity, with this donation, we’re one step closer to finding the cure.”

Ken Kurzewski of Hottmann Construction Co., said “It’s an honor to play for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Wisconsin Chapter, and it feels even better to deliver a $25,000 check to them!”

He added, “Greg is a longtime friend and business associate, and we’ve played in the First Business Invitational for several years, it was time we won in honor of his son.”
