Team Hidalgo/Warner 4th Annual Memorial Golf Outing Raises $43,000
MILWAUKEE, WI — The 4th Annual Team Hidalgo/Warner Memorial Golf Outing was held on Friday July 22, 2016 at the Western Lakes Golf Club in Pewaukee. 148 registered golfers and 210 diners participated in the day’s events, which included an 18-hole scramble, dinner, raffle, silent and live auction. Courtney Carlson organized the event, assisted by her parents Greg and Kathy Carlson, and the Wisconsin Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation (VFW). The $43,000 raised will benefit the Fisher House Wisconsin, Daren M. Hidalgo Memorial Fund, and Richard D. Warner Memorial Fund “It was a great success as we honored and celebrated the lives of Army 1st Lieutenant Daren Hidalgo and Marine Lance Corporal Richard Warner,” said Jorge Hidalgo, GM and principal partner, Wilde East Towne Honda. “Our sons selflessly paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation in Iraq and Afghanistan. We honor them by supporting their fellow service members who have returned home. We could not have raised this amount without the support of the local community. We are grateful and touched by the businesses and individuals who help raise funds for a charity that supports those veterans and families who have given so much in service of our nation.” The Fisher House of Wisconsin’s mission is to provide a “home away from home” for Military and Veterans’ families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. The new Fisher House is located just northwest of Lake Wheeler and is within walking distance of the medical center. The 13,000-square-foot facility opened on April 23, 2016 and offers 16 suites, all professionally furnished and decorated.
