(MADISON, Wis.)—Nakoma Golf Club announced today that it raised $10,500 for the UW Carbone Cancer Center during the club’s annual “Longest Day of Golf” fundraiser, which took place Monday.
“Through this fundraiser, we are able to show how Nakoma is an extension of the community,” Nakoma Golf Pro Brad Peck said. “I really applaud our members for showing their support.”
The event has taken place almost every year for the past 35 years. Participants solicited pledges from area businesses and other members and golfed all day, beginning at 6 a.m.
The youth of Nakoma Golf Club picked the UW Carbone Cancer Center as the fundraising recipient for 2016.
In the past, Nakoma Golf Club has raised money for organizations such as the American Family Children’s Hospital.
