Rothman, Wilson earn honors presented by alma mater Marquette University as part of Alumni National Awards
MILWAUKEE – Foley & Lardner LLP announced that Jay Rothman, Chairman and CEO, and John Wilson, partner, have been honored for their personal achievements and support of their alma mater, Marquette University, at the university’s 2016 Alumni National Awards. Rothman and Wilson are among the 50 accomplished alumni and friends who were honored for their personal achievements and support of the university.
Jay Rothman (Arts’ 82) received the Professional Achievement Award from the Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences. Rothman, who serves as chairman and CEO of Foley, was honored for his leadership role with the firm as well as serving as chairman of the board of directors of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Rothman is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and a former chair of the Transactional & Securities Practice. He has been actively involved with the Children’s Hospital and Health System for more than 10 years.
“Every single day, I am challenged, I learn something new and I grow as a person,” said Rothman about receiving the honor. “It doesn’t get much better than that.”
John Wilson (Arts ’92) received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Les Aspin Center for Government. Wilson participated in the Les Aspin Center for Government program in 1990 as an intern in the office of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl. He cites his time at the Les Aspin Center as a transformational experience that has shaped his life and career. Wilson has served on the Les Aspin Center Board of Visitors for 10 years and is a financial supporter of the Les Aspin Center. His support for the center has given countless students the opportunity to study in Washington, D.C.
“Being able to help the Les Aspin program grow and maintain its success is so important to me,” said Wilson. “I get to help provide students with the opportunity to experience the internship that helped me start my career.”
